Everyday Life Anniversary getaway

Just over a month ago, my husband and I left the little boy with his grandparents and spent a romantic weekend away at Champneys Tring spa resort. We celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary whilst there and it was a perfect way to spend it.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and once we left the bags in our room, we changed into the fluffy white robes and flip flops and explored the place. It was idyllic, exactly what I hoped for. During the whole weekend we talked, reminisced about our wedding, read books, chilled in a jacuzzi and a pool, had glorious spa treatments and indulged in delicious (and healthy!) foods. I was so pleased that the internet connection was almost non-existent, because it meant I could savour every moment and practice mindfulness.

The resort, located in a picturesque countryside in Hertfordshire, was set up as a spa over 90 years ago. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and fields, it was the most tranquil place I’ve been to in a long while. It left me completely rejuvenated, relaxed and calm. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend our anniversary weekend.
