I remember growing up, my parents, my brother and I would go to my grandparents’ cottage in the mountains every couple of weeks to escape the city and spend some time in nature. Sometimes it would only be a weekend away, and then in winter and summer we would go there for two or three weeks at times.
I have very vivid memories about the time I spent in the mountains. The endless walks to the forest, building fortresses from sticks and leaves, feeding wild animals, collecting milk and eggs from the local farmers, picking blackberries, blueberries and wild mushroom…
The older I get, the more nostalgic I become about my childhood. And I realise how important it is to have this connection with nature and the outside world whilst growing up. Therefore I try to take Antek to various parks and forests and let him run free, explore the surroundings, be curious about all the things he could find on his way. And I secretly hope he will remember our little adventures when he grows bigger.
