Family photographer Leyton

When Celine reached out to me to enquire about a summer photoshoot, we had a chat about possible locations where we could take her family photos. Both Celine and her husband are from abroad (France and Spain), so they wanted to document living in London, but without super touristy spots. We decided to start the session off in Hollow Pond - a fragment of Epping Forest (also known as Leyton Flats), which links Leytonstone and Snaresbrook. The family were familiar with this spot and would often visit it with their adorable little boy. We decided to keep the session relaxed and fun by exploring the nearby pond, feeding ducks and running around the field.

Celine was also keen on having an urban feel to their family photos, so for the second part of their photoshoot we travelled to Leyton, which was just a few minutes away from Hollow Pond. A parade of eight buildings on Leyton High Street were painted by designer Camille Walala, who was commissioned to overhaul an entire block of buildings by painting them in her signature, colourful style. I particularly loved how the vivid colours of the buildings contrasted with the family's outfits, creating really interesting and contemporary portraits.

“Alina is a fantastic photographer, she captured my family beautifully. We really enjoyed the photoshoot and our son didn’t get bored because the session was laid back and natural. High resolution (gorgeous & candid) photos, professional photographer, and certainly a fun session. Highly recommend!”
